Tom Morgan and Phil Anderson of the local chapter of Veterans for Peace believe that the growing militarization of American foreign policy suggests that – at the very least – Americans lack imagination. We Americans are gaining a reputation as a people preferring to deal with problems at the point of a gun rather than through negotiation and compromise. This has disturbing implications for our republic and for a peaceful world order. The class will explore these ideas through lectures, videos, and group discussions.
